Application/Information Request
Additional volunteers are always needed and we invite you to
join our organization. You do not need any experience with firefighting to join. The
department provides extensive training in firefighting and rescue skills throughout the
year.
The Surf City Volunteer Fire Department also has an auxiliary that supports the
department in areas such as traffic control, cleanup, and other duties more suited to
those who do not possess the physical abilities to become a firefighter. If you feel that
you cannot serve as a firefighter, perhaps you would consider becoming an
support crew member?
The Surf City Volunteer Fire
Department also has a program in place for young adults ages 14 through
17. This has come to be known as the "Junior Fire Fighter
Program". This program is designed to train young adults in
all aspects of the fire service, and to ready them for a
possible future in a fire service career either as a volunteer
for a paid fire fighter. Please contact for further information regarding the Junior
Fire Fighter Program.
We are especially in need of volunteers that are available during daytime
business hours.
If you would like to become a member you can
either complete the Online Application/Information
Request form or stop by the fire
station to pick up an application. You can contact
by e-mail
or you can call the fire station at (910) 329-2911.
Our monthly membership and
business meeting is usually held on the second Monday evening
of each month at 7:00 pm. We also hold regular training meetings
each Monday evening at 7:00 pm, except for holidays. The Junior Fire Fighters hold
their monthly meeting on the third Monday evening at 7:00 pm.
We invite you drop by the station to visit your fire
department.
